Grid tie solar energy system.

The grid tie system for solar energy is the most common route people take when they decide to switch to a renewable energy system. It is the economical system for homeowners allowing them to move more and more towards renewable energy as they can afford to.

A grid tied system can be configured two different ways. The first is to set up your system with solar panels with or without wind generators and connect them to a battery bank. The battery bank is then hooked up to an inverter and powers some of the appliances in your home. This method can be more costly to run wires and some rewiring may need to be done to your home. You also need to purchase a battery bank to store the electricity that you generate and this can sometimes be costly. The second system which is the most cost effective and easier, simply wire your system directly into the power grid. The power you generate is then fed through your meter. Your meter will then run backwards. With this setup you will need to check with local laws to see whether this type of system is allowed, also your energy company to whether they allow this type of system. A licensed electrician will have to wire both of these systems. With this system you don’t need to purchase expensive battery packs or have your home rewired.

GridTie solar systems are becoming increasingly popular with the rising costs of energy prices, when considering a change to a renewable resource, such as solar power take into consideration both the pros and cons of each system. Grid tie solar systems decrease your energy bills, some consumers report up to a 50 percent decrease in their energy bills using the gird tie solar systems. Don’t forget if you do install a solar home kit you will have to have some backup power in case of a power grid failure, furthermore the grid tie solar kits are not suited to power a conventional home fully, however some energy from the sun is preferable to none, and these kits are used for great supplemental energy. These systems are relatively inexpensive that can save you a significant amount of money on your energy bill. For those who can’t afford to switch to the off grid living all at the once the grid tie solar system is the way to go, it allows you to build your system piece by piece, as funds allow.

The grid tie system is also called tied to grid electrical system, this system links to the mains to feed excess energy back to the local mains electrical grid. When the grid fails to generate a sufficient amount of electricity, or the battery bank is not fully charged, electricity is then drawn off of the main grid of the power companies which makes up for the short fall.

It makes no difference which system you use when you go solar; the pros almost always overpower the cons.
